Acquisition Criteria

At PediaMind, we seek practices that excel in pediatric behavioral health and have shown steady growth over the past five years. Below you’ll find our industry-level and firm-level benchmarks—clearly laid out so clinic owners and investors can see exactly how we evaluate opportunities. This framework explains what drives our acquisition decisions and how your business can partner with PediaMind’s vision.

Industry-Level Criteria

  • Our market focus is on small businesses offering services and products in the ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, and early-intervention markets.

  • We look for small practices with $1.5 million–$5 million in EBITDA and margins of at least 20% to support consolidation and value creation.

  • We look for practices with recurring cash flow supported by a balanced payer mix of Medicaid, private insurance, and self-pay.

  • Licensing, credentialing, or specialized programs that limit new competition.

  • We focus on businesses that have modern EHR/RCM systems, basic telehealth capabilities (or clear potential to implement them), and documented clinical protocols and processes.

  • We seek founders willing to stay on for approximately 100 days post-close to facilitate the operational transition.

  • We seek practices with a strong presence in their communities (school systems, hospitals, pediatricians, therapists, etc.).

Company-Level Criteria

  • We seek small practices offering exclusive pediatric behavioral-health services in our target sub-markets, with a proven clinical track record of evidence-based interventions.

  • We focus on sourcing founder-led pediatric clinics where founders retain majority ownership and commit to partnering with us throughout the acquisition and transition period.

  • We seek businesses with recurring EBITDA of $1.5 – $5 million (or more) and annual recurring revenues of $5 – $15+ million.

  • We seek small practices with established EHR/RCM systems, telehealth capabilities, clear clinical protocols, billing systems in place, and customer concentration below 25% of total revenue.

  • We look for clinics where clinicians maintain at least 75% billable‐hour utilization—evidence of efficient scheduling, strong demand, and capacity to scale.

  • We seek clinics with established referral relationships with schools, hospitals, pediatricians, and therapists.

  • We target acquisitions offering unique services or payer mixes that protect margins.
